Halloween History!

Halloween is on October 31st, the last day of the Celtic calendar. It was originally a pagan holiday, honoring the dead. Halloween was referred to as All Hallows Eve and dates back to over 2000 years ago.

Shew, today has been interesting! Got up at 3:30 am because my poor kitty was terrified of the thunderstorm! I went back to bed and got up at 6:30am to make myself breakfast and prepare for my day. After I was all ready my sister Deanna and I got ready for a long trip to Good Shepherd Center! We ending up hitting a huge storm all the way, it was raining so hard we could barely see the road! By the time we got to the bridge it has cleared up, thankfully! During our trip there I noticed something just was not right with our directions, it turned out there is a different Maple Ave in Baltimore! Thankfully my phone had a GPS and we were able to arrive to Good Shepherd Center. We went in and got our name badges and headed to the activity room for the event. Unfortunately we arrived late and I missed being present during my introduction, but I was informed I received a huge round of applause. I was happy I was able to catch up with my favorite Biology Teacher Mrs. Rogers, she also told Deanna of my interesting style when I was younger. I was also able to learn of the new changes with in the center and what I can expect this year while helping! I must say that the meeting was a hit and I was able to meet all of the previous year Honorary Speakers, I was shocked when I learned I was the only former resident to have spoken. I was also extremely honored to know how many girls lives I had touched when I did. I hope I am invited to speak again to the next set of girls on the Student Leadership Council!

I am officially Miss Eastern Maryland International, I am so excited :D Tomorrow I will be making my first appearance tomorrow at the Student Leadership Council Meeting as a Honorary Speaker at Good Shepherd Center; I am so excited! Well I am getting ready to go to the Sharptown Carnival I will post tomorrow about my time Speaking to the girls that are part of the Student Leadership Council!

Today will hopefully be a productive day! I have to work-out and set myself on a proper food management schedule, and start a body cleanse. I got the ball rolling for Miss Maryland International 2011, I will be in the best shape possible! I am excited to venture back into pageantry.. though I have been on edge regarding it. Well this week has been so busy! I am excited to say I will be entering Miss Maryland International 2011 as Miss Eastern Maryland International! I am so elated to have this amazing chance to compete for such an amazing title! I am a compete International System supporter and I love taking part in community involvement. I will once again embark on this journey with Good Shepherd Center, my amazing organization that is so dear to my heart. I have already purchased my evening gown and fun fashion, both gowns are gorgeous and unlike anything I have ever worn before. I will try to post everyday!

I am excited and nervous to be competing November 21 in Miss Delmarva only two days before my birthday! I have started to get myself back into pageant gear, only 4 months! I have alot of preparing to do, and a new evening gown to buy.

On another note congrats to Miss Maryland International 2010 Heather Young for making Top 10 at nationals, and Juliana Mckee Miss Teen East Coast International 2010 for being crowned Miss Teen International.

Also a special congratulations to Kayla Hamilton who represented the state of MD well at Miss Teen International!

Summer is flying by!

Well it has been over a month since my last update! I have decided to compete in the Miss Delmarva pageant this upcoming November and I will keep everyone posted! This summer has been so much fun, spending time on the beach, amusement parks, and friends. I almost never want summer to end! I am currently getting ready to enroll in college for nursing, which I am excited about. I will be hopefully volunteering at the humane society soon, I just love it there! I will also hopefully be helping out with Camp Agape this August.. I will keep everyone posted.

I would like to take this time to wish Kayla Hamilton & Heather Young at Miss/Teen International where the new winner will be announced tomorrow night!

Dorchester Co. Humane Society

Today I had the pleasure of volunteering at the Dorchester Co. Humane Society. It was so much fun, I walked 5 dogs and helped maintain the older cat's and kittens. All of the dogs I walked were so well trained and happy. Six dogs were adopted today which was very good. I also had so much fun playing with the older cat's, its so sad that it is so difficult to find older cats homes. I plan on returning to the humane society and volunteering more.

I am no longer Miss Teen Baltimore Co. Intl 2010, my title has been handed down. Though I am sadden I am blessed to have been able to represent Baltimore Co. at States. Even though I no longer have a "title" I plan to remain a active member of my community volunteering and working Good Shepherd Center, since I am there Mid-Atlantic Ambassador. Pageantry has helped me gain so much pose and confidence and I plan to use these qualities and more in years to come. I do plan to venture back into pageantry one day in the future. For now I will enjoy being on the side lines supporting follow friends has they compete.

Well I was so sad when I was unable to attend the "Teen's Helping Teen's" playground clean-up event. I know Kayla did a amazing job, and I wish I could have been there! Well I will continue with my reign making my county proud of me, I am currently planning a lunch with the sister's of Good Shepherd. I am also preparing for my summer college classes.

I am so excited to be taking part in the "Teen's Helping Teen's" Refurbishing the Meadow Brooks Playground event tomorrow afternoon! I will be helping with Miss Teen Maryland Intl 2010 Kayla Hamilton and other member's of the "Teen's Helping Teen's" Program. I am glad I will be able to give back to my community the park has not been cleaned in five years! I am so happy I was asked to become a member of Kayla's Teen program and I plan to help promote the cause in hope of gaining more teen members!

Time to Reflect

Wow I have just been able to sit back and reflect along with think about my future plans. I truly believe I would have done nothing differently at this year's pageant.. A different Judge a different Day a different Outcome. I am pleased with the work I have done and what I have been able to accomplish. I feel I have gained so much during the last 7 months. I will continue on the road to creating change for Good Shepherd Center, I see a crown one day in my future. The center is so near to my heart and I look forward to touching more girls with my personal story. I plan to return to the International System as a Miss contestant in the near future. For now I am just going to keep going with my current goals.

This years pageant was amazing, and I truly enjoyed every moment! Though I wasn't crowned I was more than pleased to see my room mate and great friend Maykayla Hamilton be crowned. My journey with GSC is not over but only beginning! I know I have made a difference with my platform and I plan on working hard and maybe returning to International for Miss :)

8 More Days!

Wow time has been flying! Its only feels like yesterday I was being appointed Miss Teen Baltimore County International 2010! These last 7 months have been a blast from volunteering at the Maryland Charity Kickoff's, American Heart Ass. Heart Walk, John Hopkins, and so many more. I have felt truly blessed to represent such a amazing county. Win of lose I will continue to promote Good Shepherd Center on my quest to gain more support for these struggling teens. I know in the end God will reward me in the best way. I only hope I have been able to help and touch the hearts of these struggling teena. In February I celebrated 2 years of being out of Good Shepherd Center. Also this past August I celebrated 1 year of representing GSC. The pageant is only 8 days away, I will continue to pray and prepare my mind,body, and soul. With the help of my truly amazing Life/Pageant Coach Mrs. Terrianne I have truly become the person I have always strived to be. She helped open my eyes to see all the potential I truly have as a woman. She also helped me realize I am truly a "living platform". I also want to thank all my amazing sponsors with out them this wouldn't be possible. Good Shepherd Center has helped me afford to compete this year along with supporting my every goal. Studio 921 Spa sponsored my new look for this years pageant, which I am truly grateful for. Carol Schoenfeld sponsored my alterations payments which was a amazing help. LaQuisha Hall who is a women I am blessed to have met through pageantry sponsored my amazing evening gown. Lastly Chris Palardy who sponsored my Fun Fashion and many other little things has been my rock and support system through all my ups and downs of this years pageant.My mission from day one was never the crown but to empower troubled teenage girls by providing them with the necessary tools to lead and succeed despite life's obstacles.

Lastly this month is Prevention Awareness of Sexual Assault and Child Abuse. Which I am also a big supported of since I am a child abuse survivor.

I am truly excited about this years pageant! I have been working so hard to prepare myself and represent my county and organization with pride. These last 7 months have been so exciting and challenging. Over coming my fears and self-doubt. With the help of my amazing Coach Mrs. Terrianne I have truly changed from the inside out. She helped me recognize my strengths and how to gain more confidence. No matter what the outcome is this has truly been a amazing experience! I have enjoyed every moment leading to the pageant, the decision on rather I win rests in Gods hands.

Well the end of March is approaching. The pageant is almost here, 2 weeks and 6 days! I'm so excited and my dresses will be out of alterations next Monday. I was unable to attend PA Intl this weekend, even though I was unable to I stay in the loop with what was happening. I can't believe 7 months have gone by so fast and now I am preparing for the judges. I hope all my hard work and dedication pays off in the end. I am working hard almost everyday on preparations, this will be my final teen pageant.. and hopefully my happiest one.

Its down to the last weeks, 27 days till I am on stage competing for Miss Teen Maryland International 2010!! I am so excited, I am almost done all my goodies bags and my last rehearsal dress arrived. I'm stressed but its not a bad stress its a motivational stress. Tonight I have a walk session with my amazing coach Ms. Terrianne. I will post more later.

My long To-Do List

Well since it's only 29 days till the pageant I have started my pageant To-Do list. First thing check off was my new hair style, a month before the pageant may seem soon but it's not. Since I've changed my hair color back to my natural I won't need to re-visit for a color change. I was able to go to Studio 921 Spa who sponsored my entire new look for the pageant. I was pair with Amber who knew exactly what I wanted and helped me achieve my new hair style. I was so happy they were able to sponsor me. Also on my list is to start hitting the gym even more and start my water diet.. I call it a water diet because for the next month I will be cutting out all other drinks except for a glass of milk a day. On my list includes getting my nails done, tanning, alterations and other things. This is going to be one busy month for me!

So today started like any other Monday... I am in complete pageant mode! Diet, working out, last minute preps.. I swear the final month is the biggest rush! I still have alterations to have done.. it's so crazy! Today I worked out with Maykayla which was nice.. it's easier to work out with a friend than alone! I'm still looking for all the perfect jewelry for the pageant. I am practicing every night and making sure and I fully ready for any interview question I may get. Hopefully this year will be a great pageant with great success's.

Well Today I traveled to Kent Island with Maykayla to attend the MD Intl Workshop. Even though Ms. Sherry was unable to host Ms. Terrianne and Many queens step in to make it happen. While there we did Mock Interviews, it's to help us prepare for the real thing in a month! I received really good feedback which made me happy. I am so thrilled to have been spending the last 7 months promoting my platform and working hard towards the crown. I feel I have accomplished so much in only a few months. I feel proud of what I have accomplished and helping Good Shepherd Center! I look forward to putting in my all to make my County and Organization proud!

Well today I had the pleasure to be able to create a get well poster fellow pageant contestant and friend Maykayla Hamilton Miss Teen Central Maryland International. We went all out to make our amazing director a "Get Well" poster, we added so much glitter, furs and rhinestones! Along with that we made her a Best Director Sash and a glitter hat! Than we spent the rest of the afternoon talking and I was able to help her create her first website! It was such a fun day, tomorrow I will be heading to Kent Island with Maykayla for the MD Intl Workshop, were my amazing coach Mrs. Terrianne will be taking over since Ms. Sherry will still be in the hospital.

Well March is here once again, no spring weather but that's ok! Looking forward to the pageant in a month! Wow I can not believe 6 months has gone by since I received my title! This year has been so amazing and I have truly enjoyed preparing for the pageant, even though I have had terrible nerves the whole time! I have worked hard with GSC and I hope all my dedication pays off in the end I capture the state crown. Win or lose this experience as been about helping the teens of Good Shepherd Center. As the crunch times drawls I will work harder to prepare and hopefully it will all pay off! Saturday I will be helping to organize an event with the other MD Intl contestant's for Ms. Sherry Benson, we are creating banners and cards for her to get well since she has fallen sick. Well The MD Intl Workshop is this Sunday and I am so excited!

Its February 17.. the state pageant is drawing closer everyday! 50 more day's... that just doesn't seem like enough time for me to feel prepare enough! I am still working out to hopefully reach my ideal weight goal.. 50 day's to reach it! I also hope to squeeze in a few more volunteer events before they are due for the community service award March 7. I've been able to do 20 hours of community service on my own.. and I've done at least 10 hours of community service with the director's events. I feel that is a huge accomplishment since I am also in school and I have been working! I feel like I have also been able to make an impact on the girls at Good Shepherd Center. I hope all of my hard work and dedication will pay off so I can win the state title. Alot of people have told me my platform is extremely strong and unique. I hope the Judges that day feel the same way! I know this journey has been long for me and crown or no crown I will continue to help the Good Shepherd Center girls!

Big Move!

Well today I begin my move to Ellicott City from Baltimore County.. I'm so stressed with all of this packing! While packing I was able to go through all my pageant stuff and sort through keeps and what needs to be donated. I never realized over a year I could manage to buy so many appearance dresses... must of them still have tags! I am glad I will be able to donate these clothes to Good Will for a girl who would need these more than me.. moving is such a learning experience like.. I never realized how many boxes it would take to pack up one room! Or how much tape... or even how in the world did I manage to get all of this stuff! Well hopefully today's move goes smoothly!

I enjoyed speaking with the girls about my experience and telling them the positives I receive from the center. I thoroughly enjoyed this meeting and I felt honored to be apart of such a amazing program within the center. I look forward to visiting the center soon!

Well February is right around the corner! Gosh it seems like just yesterday the pageant was 7 months away now its 3! The build up is driving me nuts! Well at least my Frederico Leone Interview Shoes and Evening Gown Shoes arrived today in the mail. I've also completed my clothing selections for the pageant! I'm still toning my body.. I'm so happy I was able to shred 35Ibs in 4 months! Wow that's crazy... and a goal I am so happy to be currently working on. Honestly I wouldn't feel as confident about this years pageant without my amazing coach Mrs. Terrianne.. she has really helped me to become more confident in who I am as a person, for that I am thankful and I can take that outside of pageantry. As the pageant draws closer I am preparing and beginning to realize why I love rush of pageantry!

Tomorrow I will be speaking to the Student Leadership Council which I am truly excited about! I love talking directly to the girls who I am advocating for!

Martin Luther King Jr. Day Parade

Today I joined ten other teens and 5 other pre-teens in the annual Martin Luther King Jr. Day Parade in Baltimore Maryland. We had a large float Miss Teen Central Maryland Intl Grandfather allowed us to use. It was a excellent time!

Tonight I had the pleasure to cheer on my pageant coach Terrianne Small at the America's Mrs. Pageant held at Harford Community College in Bel-Air MD. I had so much fun talking to other Queens and meeting new people. The best part was when my pageant coach was crowned America's Mrs. Maryland 2010! I was so happy I was sitting next to my good friend LaQuisha, as soon as she won we jumped up and screamed :) I am looking forward to more good things to come!

Maryland International Holiday Party and Canned Food Drive

Well it was time to get all dolled up and attend the MD Intl holiday party with my good friend Ashley Bush Miss Teen Catonsville. We arrived at Miss Pre-Teen Maryland International Lizzy Rice beautiful house for this years party. With canned food and our secret pageant gift in hand we were ready to socialize and prepare for the nights fun. After taking what felt like a million pictures it was time to eat some amazing food. I felt stuffed but it was all so good. Then came the Chinese Gift Exchanged. For those who don't know chinese gift exchanged is a game where all the players pick a numbers in our case 1-26 and when your number is called you pick a present. Now when the next player is called they can steal your present or open a new one. If they steal a player, the player does get to pick a new one. Noone stole my cute white hat which I was happy about! Then Mrs. Maryland International dropped by Adrienne Carver, who is such an amazing lady, also a triple crown Mrs winnner! My fingers are crossed that she may claim a 4th crown! After the night drew to a close I said my farewells and headed home, I was exhausted but truly enjoyed then night!

Baking Cookies at John Hopkins

For the second year I returned to the John Hopkins Childrens House to bake cookies for children currently dealing with cancer and other illnesses. I was able to lend a hand in preparing cookies to give to the children and family this holiday season. It was a true pleasure knowing I was baking cookies for a good cause. I enjoyed talking with other contestants, and trying to "safely" remove cookies from the oven. It was funny watching the parents remove and put cookies in the oven under a minute while it would take three of us to do it in 5 mins. During the experiance I was able to reflect and know that I am blessed to be able to say I am in good health today.Hopefully I will be able to take part in this operation next year.

Snow Snow Snow Snow! Yes that would sum up today! As the Maryland International Pageant draws closer.. I am a wreck.. yes me a wreck! There is so much prep and money involved I am stressed. I have been able to get the outfits needed, but me being me, I am never sure about anything. What will the judges think? Should I be more conservative? What if I look to old? Etc Etc.. I think I just need to feel more confident with my platform and that with my coach can helping me I can reach the crown! My adventure into pageantry honestly isn't about wanting a crown.. it is about getting my message across to so many others! Society writes off teenage girls who struggle and end up in Treatment Centers. Writing off a girl only makes her feel less to anyone. I just hope that by opening up and sharing my story of pain and struggle and my strength to endure will open the eyes of a girl to help her succeed. My mission has always been to empower troubled teenage girls will then tool to lead and succeed despite life obstacles. Crown or no crown this year I will continue to advocate on the behalf of the girls who can't.. a crown would be nice though ;)

Mayors Christmas Parade

Today while in the freezing cold I represented Baltimore Co. in the annual Mayors Christmas Parade. I had fun meeting up with other contestants and chatting away. I rode with Miss Teen Central Maryland Intl and Miss Teen Eastern Shore Intl. We all braved the cold with big smiles and waved to everyone outside enjoying the parade. I was riding on the back of a black Mercedes and well it wasn't designed for three title holders to sit, but we all managed! Its hard to believe in 4 months I will be competing again!

I had the chance to attend the 2010 Miss and Miss Teen DC USA Pageant. I was in attendance with Terrianne Small America's Mrs. Montgomery Co., Heather Young Miss Montgomery Co. International and many more! I was able to sit in what I called "VIP" the best seats in the room!This was the first USA pageant I have every attended. I enjoy watching every contestant compete, along with all the beautiful gowns. In the end contestant Mackenzie Green was crowned Miss DC USA 2010 and Jennifer Lopez was crowned Miss DC Teen USA 2010.

Thanksgiving Parade!

Today I had the chance to ride in the Thanksgiving Parade located in Silver Spring Maryland. I enjoyed representing Baltimore County and Good Shepherd along with the International Pageant System. I was also able to meet some new contestants and meet up and chat with some old friends. The parade it self started almost 1 hour late, but it was still a fun experience. I am looking forward to the Mayor's Christmas Parade in two weeks!

Northrop Grumman Holiday Drive

Today I had to please to learn about the Northrop Grumman Holiday drive Angels Program. Good Shepherd Center is one of the six non-profits to be involved. The Angels Program is where the students at GSC make a list of what they want for Christmas. The list then goes to Northrop Grumman where employees "adopt" an Angel and give her a Christmas Gift she wanted. This program is so important to the center, it is extremely hard to gather enough gift for 100 girls. With Northrop Grumman Angel program the girls can all receive the gifts they truly wanted! I was so thrilled to be able to say a few words on the importance of this program to the girls and how they are helping to to feel cared for. I was able to attend with Sandra Litz which is always a joy!

Next week the Nothrop Grumman Kickoff will take place on Monday! I am so excited, I also received the best news... GSC will be covering my entire sponsor fee this year! That is so helpful and I am so grateful! I will also be working with Ms. Terrianne who is a well known pageant coach, I am super excited! I will keep everyone posted as events take place!

November has arrived! What an exciting month this will be. This month I will be turning 18 on November 23, which marks my last year competing as a teen contestant. I am looking forward to being older... As every month passes the International Pageant draws closer, my excitement is building! I hope I am able to serve my County well and also represent GSC with honor! Hopefully this year I will come home crowned.... we will just have to wait and see!!

"Go Red for Women"

Today I had to pleasure of taking part in the annual "Go Red for Women" heart walk. I along with other county title holders we walked around the tents asking runners to sign up to receive more information and get a free pin, along with a chance to spin the wheel and get a great prize! I was able to meet two Ravens Cheerleader's who where so beautiful and kind! I arrived at the event at 8:15am and left at 10:30am. I wished all the racers luck and even got to meet Sandra Shaw!

I truly enjoyed the Expo, so many great vendors and people. I enjoyed meeting with the current queens and the contestants! To my dismay I had to leave early due to a terriable headache!! Yuck! Also on a lighter note I was able to see LaQuisha the current Mrs. Maryland Galaxy 2009 who I adore! The expo was very productive and we were able to have some girls sign up.

Well today I am going to have the chance to go to the Pageant Expo, and represent the Maryland International pageant. I am so excited and I found the perfect white suit for the event (lets cross our fingers I don't get something on it!) My dear friend LaQuisha Mrs. Maryland Galaxy 2009 will be there an I am so excited, she is such an amazing queen. Well I hope to enjoy my time from 12-5 to be exact!! Also Step Out: Walk to Fight Diabetes was great yesterday (sorry no pictures.) I will post pictures and such when I return, I hope to see some of my pageant family there!

So this week I was soo happy when I finally received the interview suit and dress my friend sent me from PA. The suit is a gorgeous red with black detailing, the dress is a silk teal with a large pink flower (Macy's Sell the dress!). I am still waiting to receive my Zum Zum dress I order, hopefully it arrives next week so I can wear it to the Pageant Expo next week! This Saturday I am looking forward to the Fall into Fitness walk at CCBC, I will be representing Baltimore County as Miss Teen Baltimore Co. Intl 2010. I am talking with Sister Mary Jude of Mount De Sales to hopefully be able to talk to the girls at Mount De Sales about Good Shepherd Center, they have made alot of donations to the girls there. The Picture is the Zum Zum dress I ordered.. hopefully it comes in soon!

MCC Kickoff Annapolis

Today I had the pleasure of attending the MCC Kickoff for Annapolis with Sandra Litz of Good Shepherd Center. This kickoff was more low key which gave me the chance to interact with more of the Charities. I was able to talk with a representative with CASA about speaking at a upcoming event. The Epilepsy Foundation would like me to be apart of the H.O.P.E. Mentoring Program H.O.P.E. stands for Helping Other People with Epilepsy, for those who do not know I have seizures due to Epilepsy, I feel like a great mentor for others. Food & Friends was interested in my title and I was able to have a in depth conversation about the program, hopefully I will soon be able to volunteer my efforts for them. Lastly Coppin State University Desney Green has decided to pass my information along to hopefully have me included as a speaker in a upcoming event. I was also able to meet with Senator Kasemeyer who gave Good Shepherd a Grant for new bathrooms, such a nice guy. This event was all and all informative and exciting!

MCC Kickoff!!

Today I had the pleasure to represent Good Shepherd along with Sandra Litz at the Maryland Charity Campaign Kickoff in Baltimore, MD today. I met so many wonderful charities from around Maryland. We where about to talk to the Maryland Food bank about setting up volunteer opportunity's for the girls as well as myself. Along with that also representatives from My Sisters Circle, hopefully we will be able to set up mentors for the girls. Along with that I was able to talk to a girl scout leader about there involvement with my Item drive to benefit the girls. I met so many people with wonderful connections where we as non-profits cans benefit from each other. I look forward to my year of service and dedication to the Good Shepherd center in hopes of bringing the International crown to my organization. I am thrilled to have been blessed with this opportunity to speak out on what I believe in as a Living Platform.

Tomorrow I will be attending the Maryland Charity Campaign Kickoff in Baltimore with Sandra Litz, one of the major people who play a role with my representation on the center and also with pageantry. I will be leaving at 9:45am to be representing the Charity along with Sandra. I hope this will be a enjoyable experience, since I was unable to make the Ovarian Cancer Walk, tomorrow will be my first official appearance as Miss Teen Baltimore Co. Intl 2010. My new sash for the 2010 International Pageant Arrived today, I was so excited! It is a gorgeous sash made by Banners Plus you can visit there site at: http://www.pageantbanners.com/. This week has been great, other then I may not be able to make the Ovarian Cancer walk event tomorrow, I am crossing my fingers things will fall into place. I am still busy with school and work and I am thrilled to say my opening number dress came in this week and it is gorgeous!! I am so thrilled to have been able to find one this soon ( I hate last minute pageant shopping!) I was also happy the color was changed from pink to purple, to many peoples surprise I am not a pink person :) The outfits are the same as last year though, Evening Gown, Fun Fashion, Aerobic Wear, Opening Number, Interview Suit, Orientation Suit, and 2 pageant dressy rehearsal outfits. At least I can scratch one off that list!! I hope I am able to do as much community service as I can, I love giving back!! I also hope this Tuesday Maryland Charity Kickoff event with Sandra Litz from Good Shepherd Center goes great, I am looking forward to representing Good Shepherd Center.

I officially became Miss Teen Baltimore County International 2010 on Tuesday September 1 :) I am so thrilled to once again have the honor of representing Baltimore County this year! The pageant date is set for Saturday April 10, 2010! I have 9 months of appearances and preparation to make this year my very best! I've already order my purple cocktail opening number dress! It takes me forever to gather all the attire needed for the pageant, because I am so picky! This is the last year I am able to compete at a teen level, so I will make this journey enjoyable!! Good Shepherd has graciously partnered with me again, which is a honor. The center is such a great non-profit organization. I am still discussing holding a item drive at my college with administration, hopefully it's approved. College is going well and happens to be extremely demanding, I have to balance my time well with pageantry, school, and two jobs; but the challenge is awesome! Hopefully I can serve as a excellent role models for today's teens.

Great News!

On Sept. 1 I will officially be Miss Teen Baltimore Co. Intl 2010!! I am so excited I am able to compete in the international system again this year, it brings me much excitement! I am also thrilled to still be able to have Good Shepherd Center as a Sponsor. I will be preparing intensively over the next months till the pageant. I will make sure to keep everyone updated to! Coming up on Sept. 3 will be my first appearance as Miss Teen Baltimore Co. Intl 2010 at the Ovarian Caner Walk in Annapolis. Then I will be making an appearance with Sandra Litz who has played a big part in my sponsorship with Good Shepherd at the MCC Kickoff on Sept. 15.

I was able to meet with Good Shepherd today and sit down with Ms. Sandra Litz and a few sister's to enjoy lunch at the center. We discuss upcoming events for the year and my idea to hold a campus wide drive to benefit the girls at the center, they will also once again join me on the Miss Teen Maryland International Pageant for 2010 as my sponsor and platform. College start August 31 that's right around the corner! I am so thrilled to be entering into my second year with Secondary Biology as my major. This year I will be juggling work, school, and pageantry! I love a challenge, I have already set my standards for school and how many pageant related events I want to attend by the end of my reign along with hopefully raising $1000 dollars towards Good Shepherd Center, while still going to work. A meeting with Good Shepherd is under way to take place this month to discuss fundraising and the upcoming pageant. I would also like to announce a new event through my college I will be attending: "Fall into Fitness" taking place September 26, 2009 at CCBC. I will be taking back in the fun 1k walk. Monday July 20 I have a meeting with the representatives at Good Shepherd Center. I will be having lunch with the Sisters and Sandra Litz, then there will be a meeting to discuss fundrasing towards the center. As many know I am the Ambassador for Maryland's Good Shepherd Center located in Baltimore, Maryland. This center takes in trouble teenage girls who have dealt with drugs, abuse, eating disorders, anger, and metal illnesses. This center has nearly 140 years of experience and has helped nearly 30,000 Maryland families. Currently in the works is a fundraiser for the girls to have better school supplies and gym equipment. Also to help receive donations for girls clothes who's parents are unable to afford they are in the Center. Donations would be great, my goal is $1,000 and 100 items of clothing to be reached by September. Please contact me if you would like to help =)

Race for our Kids

I had the pleasure of volunteering my time at this event! It was a excellent morning for a 1K, 5K, and 10K race, all the runners where so happy when they finished to see food and water ready for them. These runners ran for the Children's Center at Sinai Hospital. I felt honored to be able to volunteer my time for the Children's Center at Sinai, an give my time to work at the food tent.
